Hungary vs Russia Prediction 5 June 2017

Tournament: International Friendly
Location: Groupama Arena
Match date: 05.06.2017 at 19:45

On June 5 2017 at 19:30 in Budapest at the Groupama Arena the regular international friendly game will be played between Hungary and Russia national teams.

We must start with the fact that Hungary have never been among the top national teams neither they were near the bottom. Yet, they showed really good results at their latest international competition. They outplayed Austria and drew Iceland and Portugal at the group stage of the Euros in France and it let them make it to the play-offs of the competition from the first place. In the round of 16 Hungary met Belgium and lost 0:4 to them. As for the World Cup qualification, Hungary had to face serious competitors for the first two places as they have Portugal and Switzerland in their group.

As for Russia, they appeared to be one of the biggest disappointments of the Euros as they drew England and lost to Slovakia and Wales at the group stage of the competition and took the last place in the table of their group. Russia are definitely going to take part in the World Cup final next year as they are the hosts of that upcoming international forum and probably it’s good for them as they show really poor performance now and the results of their latest friendly matches prove it. In those games Russia national team lost to Costa Rica and Ivory Coast, drew Belgium and Turkey and outplayed Ghana and Romania.

The teams only played four games against each other and the results of those matches how the advantage of Russia as they won three of them while in the remaining match the teams drew. As for the upcoming game, it’s actually pretty difficult to predict the results as the teams aren’t going to be motivated and they won’t come with their best squads as their national championships have already finished. Anyway, we think that Russia will try to use that upcoming match as they aren’t going to have any official matches until the World Cup begins.
