Slovakia U21 vs Sweden U21 Prediction 22 June 2017

Tournament: Euro U21 2017
Location: Arena Lublin (Lublin)
Match date: 22.06.2017 at 18:45

On Thursday, 22 June, at 18:45, a match of the European Under-21 Championship is scheduled to be held at Arena Lublin, in which the Slovakia national under-21 team will play against their counterparts from Sweden.

The Slovakian national team is distinguished with a very pleasant game in the final part of the European Under-21 championship. The Slovaks play attacking football, which pleases spectators very much. The first game against the domestic Poland was glorious. Having conceded on the first minute of the match already, Slovakia created a ton of dangerous moments near the opponents’ goal, however, it wasn’t long until the Slovaks equalized on the 20th minute and in the second half Slovakia went ahead even, eventually winning the game. The game against the England national team was equal, the Slovaks looked preferably and even managed to open the score, however, everything changed in the second half and Slovakia lost with a score of 1:2.

The Scandinavians are currently showing mediocre results, postponing the fate of the play-off advancement to the last round. Despite having the upper hand over England in the first round of the group stage, Sweden did not manage to defeat the patriarchs of football, having a goalless draw. In the second match against the host team of Poland, Sweden started poorly and conceded on the sixth minute. However, having scored on the 36th minute, they managed to develop their success on the 41st. But this was not the end of it, as the foul in the penalty area near the end of the match allowed Poland escape the defeat and a 2:2 draw as a result.

The national under-21 teams of Slovakia and Sweden have met each other only once before. Back in 2014, the national team of Sweden celebrated a 1:0 victory in a friendly match. Despite the fact, that the Slovakian team may show some unstable results and not have the best defense, it has scored at least one goal within the last nine matches since 2016.
