Everton vs Sunderland Prediction 20 September 2017
On September 20 2017 at 19:45 in Liverpool in the upcoming game of the English League Cup Round of 32 at the Goodison Park Stadium the local Everton will host their guests Sunderland.
We don’t need to talk a lot about the crisis Everton are now in. we just need to have a look at the standings of the English Premier League. Well, in fact, they had a very good start. They outplayed Stoke City 1:0 in the first game at the Goodison Park and after that drew Manchester City at the Etihad 1:1. After that Everton started falling apart. The losses to Chelsea 2:0, Tottenham 0:3 and Manchester United 4:0 made them go down to the 18th place in the table of the EPL in the relegation zone.
As for Sunderland, they were relegated to the football League Championship after the end of the previous season and they were expected to come back to the elite division soon. Yet, the results of the starting games played there don’t make us think so anymore. In the latest match Sunderland drew Hull City 1:1 and it prolonged the winless series of the team to make it six matches long already where they drew twice and lost four times. Such results leave Sunderland of the 21st place in the standings of the Football League Championship.
The teams met twice in the previous season of the English Premier League. Everton won their both home and away matches. Both teams are in really deep recessions at the moment and we can’t see any features which may help them get out of it. Anyway, it seems to us that there won’t be a lot of goals scored in the upcoming match between two outsiders of different divisions.
