West Ham United vs Shrewsbury Town Prediction 16 January 2018

Tournament: English FA Cup
Location: London Stadium
Match date: 16.01.2018 at 19:45

On January 16 2018 at 19:45 in the upcoming regular game of the English FA Cup Round of 64 at the London Stadium the local West Ham United are going to host their guests from the League One Shrewsbury Town.

Despite the fact that the Hummers had a really poor start of the campaign and their first round of the current championship wasn’t successful at all, they still seem to have managed to find their way and improve their results lately. On January 13 West Ham outplayed Huddersfield Town with the devastating 1:4 in the national championship. That victory was the 6th one in their 23 games played since the start of the championship and it also prolonged their lossless series to make it 4 games long in the EPL already. In the first leg game of the current stage of the FA Cup West Ham unexpectedly chose to give the advantage to Shrewsbury and drew without scoring or conceding a single goal in the end.

As for Shrewsbury, they participate in the League One in the current season, as we have already mentioned, and they manage to show rather good results in it. After 26 games played since the start of the championship they have 54 points gained and are one of the leaders of the division. Anyway, they unexpectedly lost to Blackburn 3:1 in their latest match of the national championship which made their distance to Wigan three points already. We must remind you that Shrewsbury have already played two games in the FA Cup on their way to the current stage where they won against Aldershot and Morecambe.

On January 7 the teams played their first game against each other in their history and, as you know, it finished with the goalless draw. Anyway, it seems to us that the Hummers are supposed to win against Shrewsbury in the second leg game after they easily outplayed Huddersfield. Moreover, they are going to play at home this time and it makes us think of their advantage once again.
