Norway to toughen betting on skins and cybersports

Norwegian regulative body Gaming Authority is going to impose sanctions on operators offering cybersports betting.

According to the current legislation, skin totalizers are considered to be a part of gambling, which should be regulated by the national body. The measure was adopted by example of the gambling commission of Great Britain, which sanctioned illegal operators, accepting bets on skins and videogames.

Norwegian authorities representatives claim, that skis usually cannot be exchanged to cash, but it is possible to withdraw skins from a game and other markets for purchase and selling. There are separate internet casinos, where you can make a bet and win skins and also exchange them for virtual currency, which can be used for gambling. They’ve also emphasized, that they have already seen several case of kids and young people spending thousands of dollars on this entertainment. Therefore Norwegian authorities have decided to do everything in their power to cease operations of illegal bookies, making skin exchange.
