EFL expands partnership with Sky Bet

The English Football League has made a new agreement with the most popular British bookmaker for a long term.

The English Football League’s decision to expand their relationship with Sky Bet bookmaker caused criticism from voters, who claim, that the deal is another step to “normalizing” the practice, which causes a widespread social harm from betting.

The EFL agreed to extend their relationship with Sky Bet for five years until the end of the 2023/24 season. The company remains the  title sponsor of the Championship, League One, League Two, but will also obtain additional rights including the license to broadcast 18 matches per season on their website as well as broadcasting live odds at stadiums.

In terms of the new agreement Sky Bet will participate in the marketing company to increase the safety of gambling.
