Foreign online operators wouldn’t be able to obtain license in Norway
Gaming companies controlled by the Norwegian government will retain a monopoly on providing gambling and bookmaking online services.
A new licensing scheme for foreign companies will not be provided. Such decision has been made in order to protect consumers from gambling problems and also for solving social problems due to gambling revenues.
The Minister of Culture of Norway Linda Helleland reckons, that the state monopoly on online gambling is the best way to provide responsible gaming.
