Stanleybet will sue Cyprus authorities
Stanleybet bookmaking company accuses Cyprus authorities of the EU laws violations and demands to pay over 13 million compensation.
The bookie reasons its claim with income losses, due to the adopted law, forbidding betting on virtual competitions. Apart from that, Stanleybet demands compensation for ruined reputation and also for police raids, which were held four years ago, resulting in withdrawal of lots of equipment.
The company’s CEO claims, that Stanleybet has been cooperating with the EU countries for a long time and is ready to fight for their own rights. The island’s government has ten days to respond after the bookmaker has filed the lawsuit.
