RC Strasbourg Alsace vs Olympique Lyonnais Prediction 13 August 2023

In one of the pairs of the first round of Ligue 1, middle-tier sides of the 2022/23 season Strasbourg and Lyon will try to determine the strongest.

Strasbourg spent the first round of that league season in the relegation zone, but due to the finishing spurt, they managed to reach a more or less decent fifteenth place. It should be noted that this summer the Alsatians played seven friendly matches, but won only two of those with three draws and two defeats.

Lyon started at the training camp with a 2:1 win against De Treffers, after which there were some fiascos - from Manchester United (0:1), Molenbeek (0:1), Celta (0:1) and Crystal Palace (0:2). In the 2022/23 campaign, Les Gones finished seventh and were left out of the continental tournaments for the second year in a row.

In recent years, this pair has been dominated by Lyon, but Strasbourg regularly find its arguments at the opposition goal. We would venture to suggest that in the coming weekend the teams will exchange goals scored.
