Juventus vs Barcelona Prediction 22 July 2017

On July 22 2017 at 23:00 in the upcoming game of the 2017 International Champions Cup in the United States of America at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford Italian Juventus are playing against Spanish Barcelona.

Last time the teams met in the Champions League and Juventus won in that match. Yet, this time we consider Barcelona to be the favorites of the match and we’ll try to explain why.

After they were kicked-off from the Champions League Barcelona won 8 of 9 games played. Their main problem in the match against the Turinians was bad performance of their rightback Sergio Roberto and that wasn’t even his usual position, in fact. Yet Barcelona had a lot of changes since then. They signed a new young and skilled defender Semedu. Barcelona also replaced the manager; they are now ruled by Ernesto Valverde who suits their style, as it seems to us.

As for Juventus, a lot has changed in their squad too, yet those changes were by far not so positive. They lost two defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves. So, this season their perfect defense won’t be the same.

So, as we see, Barcelona improved their defense as they strengthened their week positions while Juventus actually lost their advantage in defense. Barcelona also scored 116 goals in the previous season in the national elite division which is the best results of all the top 5 leagues and we don’t think that Juventus, as they are now, will be able to resist that attack.
