Ireland vs Serbia Prediction 5 September 2017

Tournament: 2018 World Cup qualification
Location: Aviva Stadium, Dublin
Match date: 05.09.2017 at 19:45

On September 5 2017 at 19:45 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in the eighth round of the UEFA World Cup qualification campaign Ireland national team will play against Serbia.

Ireland showed really solid results at the Euros last summer and started the qualification for the World Cup in Russia. The results at the beginning of the qualifiers were a bit different from the results at the end. At the start Ireland outplayed Georgia, Moldova and Austria and after that they drew Wales, Austria and Georgia in the latest match. There will be another game between Moldova and Wales which will decide a lot in the group.

As for Serbia, they seem to have found a perfect coach for themselves. We must remind you that they showed rather poor results in the Euros 2016 qualification and didn’t make it to the final of the competition. After that they replaced a coach and started the World Cup qualification with Slavoljub Muslin. Serbia were traditionally considered to be a solid national team and in the current qualification they showed even better results than they had been expected. In the matches already played Serbia won 4 times and drew 3 times which let them take the first place in the table two points above Ireland.

The upcoming game will be the fifth one played between the teams. It seems to us that Serbia are in a better situation now as they only have one game against their strong competitors while the Green Army are to play against Wales. We think that both teams will manage to score at least once in the forthcoming match.
