Strasbourg vs Nantes Prediction 24 September 2017

The beginning of the season in the French Ligue 1 was rather difficult for Strasbourg, in fact. The beginners don’t manage to deal with the competitors from the national elite division. They weren’t efficient enough as they have only scored 4 goals in their 6 matches played while their defense wasn’t reliable at all as they conceded 11 goals. The loss to Monaco 3:0 was the 4th one in the current championship and it was also the third one in a row where Strasbourg didn’t score a single goal.
The conditions of Nantes improved a lot compared to the previous season when Claudio Ranieri came to manage them. He changed the philosophy of the game and let them play more pragmatic Italian football where they mostly concentrate on defense. We must admit that the victory against Caen 1:0 was the second one in a row for Nantes and it was also the third one in the current championship. We must also admit that Nantes only scored one single goal in all of the games they won.
The teams had the same level at the beginning of the current century and yet Nantes managed to become much stronger since then. Strasbourg are in horrible condition now, they have three games losing series. Moreover, they are in the relegation zone and this fact influences the team psychologically. We think that Nantes will manage to win or, at least, avoid a loss in the upcoming match.
