N.E.C. vs Zwolle Prediction 5 August 2016
N.E.C. take on Zwolle at Goffertstadion on the 1st round of the Eredivisie.
First of all, we should say Zwolle were one of the most spectacular teams in the Eredivisie last season. They were averaging 3.24 goals per game which is a lot even in so high-scoring league as Eredivisie.
There’s no reason to believe something is going to change in the Zwolle’s football. Ron Jans who implemented this reckless style of playing are still team’s boss. Zwolle scored 308 goals in 102 games under Jans which is 3.02 goals per game.
There were not many changes in the squad either. Centre-forward Veldwijk left the team, but Zwolle replaced him with Feyenoord’s Achahbar. On top of that, key defender Lam signed for Nottingham Forest. This way we do not expect the visitors to change anything in their game. Moreover, Zwolle have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 9 of their last 11 games in the Eredivisie.
N.E.C weren’t that high-scoring last season, however, everything can change now as the team gut new manager Peter Hyballa who loves attacking football. Moreover, there are reasons to believe N.E.C will play attacking football now. They signed several solid attackers.
We should mention N.E.C have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of their last 6 matches. On top of that, N.E.C and Zwolle scored over 2.5 goals in their last 3 matchups at Goffertstadion.
