Borussia Dortmund vs Monaco Prediction 3 October 2018
On October 2 2018 at 20:00 at the Signal-Iduna-Park in Dortmund in the forhtocimung regular match of the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage the local Borussia Dortmund will host their French guests Monaco. Two seasons ago the teams met each other in the quarterfinal of the Champions League and Monaco won in that game. Now it seems to us that the upcoming match is a perfect chance for Borussia to come back and win.
In the previous two games the BVB scored 11 goals and won with 7:0 and 4:2 scores against Nurnberg and Bayer (even though they were losing 0:2 at some point). At the current stage of the competition Borussia are in wonderful conditions. They are especially strong at the domestic stadium where they won three times and scored 14 goals. In the starting game of the Champions League Borussia won against Brugge 0:1 away from home and they scored their goal on the very last minutes of the game.
As for Monaco, last time they won was in the middle of August. After that they had a series of mistakes which made them go down to the 18th position in the relegation zone while in the previous season they finished on the second place. The club lost to Atletico in the first round match of the Champions League. In case Monaco go on this way, they may fail this season in autumn.
The Germans are the obvious favorites of the upcoming match. At the moment they are on the peak of their conditions while their opponents are in a very serious crisis. Monaco may wish to give up on the Champions League and concentrate on the national championship to avoid relegation. Anyway, it seems to us that there will be comparatively a lot of goals scored and yet the hosts will win.
