Olympique Lyonnais vs Caen Prediction 27 February 2019

On February 27 2019 at 20:00 at the Groupama Stadium in the forthcoming match of the Coupe de France the local Olympique will play against their guests Caen. This will be the match between one of the leaders of the league and the outsiders of it who will have a lot of difficult moments at the end of the championship.

Lyon have already overcome a few stages of the competition where they outplayed Bourges 0:2, Amiens 2:0 and Guingamp 2:1. And it let them get closer to the final stages of the play-offs. Yet, considering the fact that they are participating in three competitions at the same time, they may actually have to give up on one of them to distribute their energy right. In the previous match the Turners lost to Monaco 0:2 which any real chances and it made the competition for the third position even fiercer.

As for Caen, they are on the second position from the end now. They haven’t won a single game since the start of the year and that is why the Blue and Reds are among the teams which will be most likely to relegate in the end. Last weekend these drew Toulouse 1:1 and made the situation in the championship even more difficult for themselves. As for the national cup, they have already overcome three stages of it where they won against Red Star 1:0, Viry Chatillon 6:0 and Bastia 3:2.

The hosts are considered to be the favorites of the upcoming match even though they won’t probably play with their main squad. Caen as they are now seem to be in really poor conditions and they are only able to outplay the teams from lower divisions.
