Leeds United vs Derby County Prediction 15 May 2019

On May 15 2019 at 19:45 at the Elland Road Stadium in West Yorkshire in the upcoming regular match of the Championship promotion play-offs semifinal the local Leeds are going to play against their guests Derby County. In the first leg game Leeds managed to win with 1:0 score and now they only need to keep their advantage to make the last step towards the final.

The Yellow and Whites were really in the race for the direct promotion. Yet, after the mistakes they made in the games against Brantford, Wigan, Aston Villa and Ipswich they went down to the third position being outpaced by Norwich and Sheffield United. Anyway, they still have really good chances to make it to the elite division through the play-offs.

As for Derby, they, oppositely, hadn’t lost for four matches in a row before the play-offs semifinal. Due to the victories in the games against QPR, Bristol City and West Bromwich and the draw against Swansea Lampard’s side managed to take the sixth position in the Championship which lets them fight for making it to the English Premier League.

Derby really need to score at least two goals to make it further. They aren’t very likely to be able to deal with this task as Leeds aren’t planning to give up when playing at home with their domestic fans watching. That is why we expect the hosts to make it to the final and both teams not to score a lot of goals.
