Espanyol vs Sevilla Prediction 18 August 2019

On August 18 2019 at 18:00 at the RCDE Stadium in the upcoming regular match of the first game week of the Spanish national elite division La Liga the local Espanyol will play against their guests Sevilla. This is going to be the match between two teams which took the places in the Euro Cups zone in the previous season. Yet, on the other hand, we can’t really say that they are on the same level of development.

Espanyol took the seventh position in the league and made it to the qualification of the Europa League which was their best achievement in the last ten years. Yet, it still seems to us like a singular success, not a systematic development. In fact, the Parrots are among the solid middle-peasants of the Spanish championship and that is why we shouldn’t’ expect them to fight for the Euro Cups in every season.

At the same time, the ambitions of Sevilla let them fight even for the places in the top four and yet the questionable squad doesn’t let them achieve it for the second season in a row. This summer the Red and Whites improved their squad a lot and invited Julian Lopetegi to join them and now he is supposed to improve the situation for the team.

Anyway, we don’t think that the guests are going to win in their first match already. The hosts started playing their official matches earlier and that is why they seem to be better prepared. Moreover, they will have the support of the domestic fans which will definitely help them gain at least one point.
