S.L. Benfica vs Sporting CP Prediction 29 January 2022

This weekend we will witness the final match of the Portuguese League Cup between Benfica and Sporting.

After nineteen Primeira Liga matches, Benfica sit in a low third place, nine points behind the leaders. So the Eagles will try to succeed in the League Cup. There, they successfully passed barriers in the form of Guimarães (3:3), Covilha (3:0) and Boavista (2:1).

To reach the final of this competition, Sporting also broke the resistance of three opponents – Famalicao (2:1), Penafiel (1:0) and Santa Clara (2:1). In general, the Lions feel pretty good in the national arena. Only now unplanned fiasco from the same Santa Clara (2:3) and Braga (1:2) lowered them to the sole second position.

Almost two months ago, Sporting inflicted a painful defeat on Benfica, and since then the difference in class between these teams has remained the same. Given their high attacking potential, we expect them to exchange effective shots.
