Portugal vs North Macedonia Prediction 28 March 2022

The national teams of Portugal and North Macedonia will meet in the principled match for the right to play at the World Cup.

Portugal are in the top ten national teams of the world, but that did not help them in the qualifying cycle. In two decisive meetings, Selecao had a 0:0 draw with Ireland and turned out to be weaker than Serbia, 1-2. And in the first leg of the playoffs Santos’ men took care of Turkey in class, 3-1.

Only a few years ago, North Macedonia were mediocre middle-tier side of the continental qualification. However, the qualification for the Euro 2020 noticeably inspired the Red-and-Yellows for further development. They took the second place in the 2022 WC qualification, after which they sensationally defeated tough Italy, 1-0.

We very much doubt Macedonia’s ability to create another big shocker in a row. But at least in one of the halves the underdog will show fierce resistance to the more status Portuguese.
