Southampton F.C. vs Arsenal F.C. Prediction 16 April 2022

The thirty-third round of the Premier League will give us an interesting confrontation between Southampton and Arsenal.

Southampton have actually guaranteed themselves a place in the elite, so they are spending the end of the season in economy mode. After setbacks against Aston Villa (0:4), Newcastle (1:2), Watford (1:2), Leeds (1:1) and Chelsea (0:6), the Saints dropped to fourteenth position with 36 points and goal difference 37:52.

Until recently, Arsenal were the main contenders for fourth place, but after defeats against Liverpool (0:2), Crystal Palace (0:3) and Brighton (1:2), they noticeably worsened their standings. And even a 2-0 win over Leicester and 1-0 over Aston Villa didn't help the Gunners - with 54 points and a 45:36 goal stat they are fifth.

Both teams are now in crisis, so their head-to-head meeting will turn out to be quite pragmatic. We don’t think that in such scenarios we will see more than two effective shots.
