IFK Mariehamn vs HJK Prediction 22 June 2022

On Wednesday evening we will witness the final match of the twelfth round of the Finnish Championship between Mariehamn and HJK.

After an unexpected title in 2016, Mariehamn again turned into one of the league's underdogs. Having unsuccessfully performed against KuPS (1:1), Ilves (0:1), SJK (0:1), VPS (1:3) and Haka (2:3), the Islanders found themselves in eleventh position with seven points in the asset and goal difference 8:16.

HJK's figures are much better - second place, 26 points and goals 17:10. It is not surprising, because the White-Blues regularly claim the gold medals of the championship. Over the past month, they are remembered for 3:2 triumphs over Lahti and 4:1 over Haka, draws 1:1 with the same Lahti and 0:0 with KuPS, as well as a 0:1 defeat against Oulu.

In the previous two campaigns, HJK dominated Mariehamn with five victories and one draw. We are sure that even now the favorites will not miss the opportunity to strengthen their position in the championship race, defeating such a convenient opponent.
