Taison is not going to Roma

Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker and one of the best footballers of the Ukrainian Premier League, Taison, remains in the country champion’s camp.

The story of the self-proclaimed namesake of the famous boxer in Europe began with his arrival to Metalist Kharkiv. After a couple of seasons under the wing of the ex-coach of Kharkiv, as well as Dnipro and the Ukrainian team Myron Bohdanovych Markevych, Taison became of interest in London. But club president Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi refused his friend Roman Abramovich and the winger stayed in Ukraine, simultaneously fighting for the Puskas prize thanks to a goal from an acute angle in the Europa League.

However, troubled times soon came to Metalist and Taison left for Shakhtar. His partners, represented by Jose Sosa and Alejandro Gomez, also left for warmer Spain and Italy. At Shakhtar, Taison became one of the best playmakers in Ukraine and has proven himself in the Champions League. Only now, club president Rinat Akhmetov was thinking about selling a 31-year-old football player, who became of interest in Milan, who was disappointed in the Paqueta, as a playmaker.

The coalminers, according to media reports, demanded 30 million euros while Rossoneri offered no more than 25 million. Before the closing of the transfer window, Shakhtar also had the option of returning the Ukrainian Yevhen Konoplyanka to his homeland, but the need for this dropped by itself. After six rounds of the UPL, Shakhtar unconditionally lead the standings with 18 points in the asset. The closest pursuers of the Coalminers in the person of Desna and Zorya scored a total of 11 points.

By and large, the Coalminers’ hegemony in Ukraine would not have stopped even with the departure of Taison and the arrival of a new coach this summer, Luis Castro. The thing is the terrible state of Dynamo Kyiv and the lack of desire of President Ihor Surkis to invest a sufficient amount of funds in the project. And as you know, without a clear competitor, there are few chances for the team to succeed in European competitions. Even if Liverpool's former footballer Lazar Markovich comes to the club, who ix expected in the camp of Donetsk Shakhtar.
