Bayern do not need Wenger

After Niko Kovac’s departure from Bayern Munich head coach post, talks spread in the media of Arsene Wenger’s appointment.

The French specialist, who spent almost all of his managerial career at Arsenal London, will not manage the acting champions of Germany. According to the information of the German press, Wenger himself was interested in the work at Allianz Arena, but received refusal from the management,

“Arsene Wenger called Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Wednesday afternoon and told about his interest in working at Bayern.

Bayern highly appreciates Arsene Wenger for his work as Arsenal manager, but he is not in the pool of candidates,” said at the Munich club in response to Sport Bild request.

Such a response from the German football hegemon became logical, as the club has long been negotiating with Thomas Tuchel, who is heading PSG, and Erik ten Hag from Ajax. Rekordmeister expects both managers after the end of the current season, in the summer of 2020.

In the last years of Arsene Wenger’s presence at Arsenal head coach post, the Gunners did not manage to stabilize their defense. This problem is the key in the Munich club; therefore, it is not surprising that the management intends to find a specialist, who would create a quality line of defense. Undoubtedly, the team has enough injured defense line players, which influences the results, but Tuchel and ten Hag also make emphasis on building the midfield and the attack.

In this situation, Karlo Ancelotti, who has already worked with the club, or Massimiliano Allegri would fit Bayern a lot better. We have already talked about the Italian, considering him as the main candidate after Kovac’s departure. However, for now the team is managed by the acting head coach Hans-Dieter Flick, after which Bayern bosses will evaluate his work and consider the option with further cooperation.
