Moyes is given another chance

David Moyes returned to West Ham after a two-year absence and is ready to once again himself as a manager.

Scotsman David Moyes after 11-year managerial period at Everton could not cope with sir Alex Ferguson successor status. After that he went to Real Sociedad as well as Sunderland. He did not stay for more than a year in both clubs and in 2017/18 season he managed West Ham, but also left the post, leaving the Hammers on 13th place.

This season, Manuel Pellegrini managed the team. Having conducted a decent transfer campaign last summer for the Chilean manager, the club management demanded at least a battle for getting into the European cups zone at least. But 20 league match days later, the Hammers ended up on the brink of the relegation zone from the top-tier division.

Therefore, the decision to bring back the manager with whom nothing worked out for West Ham, looks extremely odd. Previously, the club finished a new stadium, invested in transfers and is making the same mistake twice. The Scotsman turned to be pleased with what is happening and having a job after one and a half years of wanderings without a club,

“This is terrific. It is very nice to return home. I missed this place, I like it here very much. I can’t wait to start working.

I am very proud that I have returned to West Ham. But I think what is more important is that the search of what I can improve and do and also how can we return to victories quickly.

I believe that the team I got here is a better roster of players than when I took the club last time; therefore I am eagerly waiting for cooperation with them,” Moyes said.

Not so long ago, Everton was in search for a new manager after Marco Silva’s departure. But even in such a stalemate situation, the Toffees did not turn to the manager, who was with them for eleven years. Everton preferred to move on and not running in place. Apart from Everton Moyes haven’t shown himself anywhere, not even talking about advancing to a more quality level. Therefore, he will hardly manage to stay at West Ham for a long and one and a half years, which the Hammers gave him seem altruistic.
