PSG want to buy Koulibaly

French PSG are looking for a replacement for Thiago Silva and are ready to fork out for Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Kalida Koulibaly gave an incredible last season. Napoli did not get into the Champions League playoffs with him and lost the championship race in Serie A, but the Senegalese was recognized as one of the best defenders of the year. Now Napoli are playing terribly in the current Serie A draw, the team is far from the Champions League zone, although it has made it to the playoffs of the tournament.

Now the team is led by Gennaro Gattuso after the resignation of Carlo Ancelotti, and the club president Aurelio de Laurentiis continues to repress football players. For PSG, the purchase of Koulibaly is a medium-term prospect, since Thiago Silva is not getting younger, and the team needs a new high-quality central defender, despite Marquinhos and Kimpembe.

Parisians are ready to fork out well for the Senegalese’s salary. According to the Italian edition of Foot Mercato, the current champion of France offers koulibaly 12 million euros a year, as they previously notified the defender's agent.

Napoli did not mind releasing the center-back, but only for an amount that would be at least 75 million euros. Since Manchester City also claim Koulibaly, Manchester United and Real are quite loyal, even though this season the Senegalese is not half what he was the year before last.

Manchester United has long been keeping Koulibaly in mind, but in the summer they signed Harry Maguire for more than 80 million euros, and now they are trading for every pound with Sporting in the hope of signing Bruno Fernandes. Manchester City lost a lot of points due to Laporte and Stones injury, so the the Citizens need Koulibaly more than Real Madrid, where the 320 million euros spent on newcomers last summer did not pay off even by half.

If PSG are really interested in acquiring Koulibaly, then they will argue with Manchester City. It will be interesting to see how the two financial giants will fight for the central defender in the era of attacking football, which created a shortage of high-quality defensive players.
