Barcelona found substitute for Dembele

Catalan Barcelona urgently signed Braithwaite to replace Ousmane Dembele, who is continuing to recover.

The Dane, who recently moved to Leganes, is now 28 years old. During his career, he managed to play in his native championship for Esbjerg, then in French Toulouse, English Middlesbrough, after which there were loans to Bordeaux and Leganes. Since last year, he has been a full-fledged player at the Spainsh average side, from where Barcelona signed him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans paid 18 million euros compensation for the Dane, written in his contract. Blaugranas also notified La Liga that, due to the need, they had to make a purchase outside the transfer window.

However, the case of the signing of Braithwaite is different from the purchase of Kevin-Prince Boateng last season. The Catalans offered the winger a contract for three and a half years. However, the club reserved the right to say goodbye to the player at the end of this campaign, if his results do not satisfy the coaching staff.

The 28-year-old midfielder has no hallmarks. He is a balanced football player in many aspects, has good speed and technique, but one cannot call him a Barcelona caliber player. Martin was taken as a substitute. This is understood by the club, the coach, and the football player himself. For him, this is a chance, possibly for a lifetime. Braithwaite should cling on to it with all his might and not let go.

In past seasons at Leganes, the striker played a total of 43 matches. In them, the footballer scored ten goals and made seven assists. At the same time, the Dane managed to grab eight yellow cards for two seasons.

The chance that Braithwaite will play at Barcelona is little. Even if he has a killer instinct, this will not necessarily help him, because the team also has Leo Messi, who may not like the assists domination of the guy replacing Dembele. Thus, most facts suggest that the Dane will, at best, remain in Barcelona until next season.
