Luis Enrique may return to Barcelona

Catalan Barcelona ex-manager Luis Enrique claims that if necessary, he will be able to train his former club.

Luis Enrique is one of the few coaches who managed to achieve serious heights at Barcelona after Pep Guardiola’s era. In 2015, the Catalans with the Spaniard in the lead achieved triumph in the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey, thus having taken the second treble in his history. No other club has never had such an achievement.

In 2017, Enrique left the coaching post of Barcelona and took up work in the Spanish national team, which failed at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Nevertheless, the manager missed most of the qualifying matches for Euro 2020 for family reasons, after which a serious scandal broke out in the Spanish Football Federation for the right to be the coach of Furia Roja.

Now Enrique is in charge of the national team, but he does not deny his return to one of the clubs that he coached before, thus making a clear hint to the management of the Catalan club,

“I think that I can train wherever I have been before. I left the doors open for all of these teams. My time in Barcelona was wonderful, I will always be grateful to the club.

I was very lucky that I spent so many years in a club that gave me everything,” Enrique said.

With Blaugranas, Luis managed to win all kinds of club trophies of the highest quality, so he is closer to returning to Camp Nou than Guardiola, who recently declared war on Barca because of the support of the club president Josep Bartomeu for the UEFA decision to remove Manchester City from the European Cups.

At the moment, the main contender for the head coach post of the Catalans is Ronald Koeman, who manages the Netherlands national team. Barca prolongs the contract with Quique Setien only because of the postponement of Euro 2020. But if suddenly it does not work out with Koeman, Enrique is always ready to help.
