PSG to raise Neymar’s salary

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are trying to keep Neymar with all his might.

Against the backdrop of raging news about the return of Neymar to Barcelona, PSG are not going to stand aside. According to the famous journalist Nicolo Schira, the Parisians are going to increase the salary of the Brazilian, despite the financial crisis and the difficulties associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking of specific figures, Schira said that PSG will offer a new contract to Neymar until 2025, when he turns 33 years old. The salary of the football player will increase from 31.6 to 38 million euros per year. The current contract of the football player expires in the summer of 2022, so it is not surprising that Barcelona will try to return it soon.

In the past, the transfer window of the Catalans was close to the reunion of MSN. But the parties failed to agree, and Neymar again reminded Barcelona of the unpaid bonuses and threatened with a lawsuit.

In the same season, the Brazilian managed to find a common language with former teammates, as well as with rookie Mauro Icardi. However, due to an injury, Neymar missed half of the season, having played 15 matches. But in them he scored 13 goals and made six assists. Also, the winger finally reached the round of 16 of the Champions League without damage and helped his team break into the quarterfinals, scoring a goal in both games of the confrontation.

Such actions of the club in this situation look extremely irrational. They intend to lose seven million euros annually for one player, although PSG need a goalscorer because Cavani is not getting any younger, and Icardi is on loan. It would be much more profitable for the Parisians to sell or exchange Neymar, having received a good future prospect. Especially in the face of a possible retaliatory investigation, if Manchester City unveil evidence of clear violations of the financial fair play from PSG.
