Inzaghi will remain in Lazio

Simone Inzaghi will soon sign a new contract with Roman Lazio and try to bring the club to the top of Italian football.

Simone Inzaghi's coaching career began with working with Lazio's youth squad, where he had been for six years. In 2016, Lazio intended to sign a contract with Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, but one day later he stopped the contract with the Eagles unilaterally.

Despite the inexperience of Inzaghi, the club appointed him the head coach and for four years the Italian has been successfully managing the team from Rome. On his account are two Italian Super Cups and last year's Cup of the country, won in the final fight with Atalanta og Gianpiero Gasperini.

This season, Lazio are one of the most stable clubs in Italy. The team took advantage of Juventus’s turbulence after the departure of Massimiliano Allegri and the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, and also managed to catch Inter in recession with a new mentor, Antonio Conte. At the moment, the Eagles occupy the second line of Serie A, losing only one point to Juventus, although they beat them this season once in the championship and once in the Super Cup.

Simone Inzaghi did a really large amount of work in Lazio in four years. The team has transformed from a middle peasant fighting for a place in the Europa League, into a team that is ready to enter the Champions League. The attacking style of playing of the Eagles with three defenders is sometimes striking in its recklessness, but in the end it brings a good result for the team.

Therefore, it would be extremely foolish to let the coach go, given that he and President of Lazio Claudio Lotito have a very good relationship. The Italian should extend the contract until the end of the 2022/23 season with an increase in salary to 2.5 million euros. The powers of the specialist will also be expanded. Apparently in the summer the club will be able to strengthen the squad and fully equipped to fight in the group stage of the Champions League.
