Tuchel to replace Lampard?

Former head coach of Borussia Dortmund and French PSG Thomas Tuchel may replace Frank Lampard.

Thomas Tuchel will not remain unemployed for long. A number of clubs are already claiming the German specialist after being fired from PSG, and looking at the decline of London's Chelsea, a change of coach looks possible.

The Pensioners won only one match out of the last six in all tournaments. The team dropped out of the first four leaders and scored 26 points in 16 rounds, which is the second worst indicator of the Londoners in the history of the Premier League. Given the weak shape of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, club president Roman Abramovich can take this step.

Before Tuchel left Borussia Dortmund, Abramovich contacted with the coach, so he remained in touch with him. In addition, three compatriots of Thomas are present in Chelsea. In addition to the newcomers Havertz and Werner, the club also has Antonio Rüdiger. Based on this, Tuchel will not have problems with understanding in the team, which will help him with adaptation.

Lampard has been coaching Chelsea for a year and a half. During this time, he managed to book a place in the Champions League and reach the playoffs of the tournament for two years in a row. While during the first season under Lampard there were a lot of young people in the team and the management did not pay too much attention to the results, now everything has changed. Significant money was invested in transfers: Havertz, Werner, Ziyech, Mendy, Silva came, and the indicators are not very different from the previous ones.

Thus, it seems to me that the arrival of Thomas Tuchel to Chelsea is likely, since the Pensioners’ management doesn’t put up with managers for a long time. From a strategic point of view, it would be nice to give Lampard more time and wait for the end of the season. But, on the other hand, Tuchel can solve more short-term issues, so his arrival will be objectively justified.
