Leeds need Douglas Costa

This season’s EPL rookie Leeds United are hoping to sign Douglas Costa from Juventus, who performs for Bayern.

After leaving Shakhtar Donetsk, Douglas Costa managed to play for Bayern Munich and Juventus Turin. Now the Brazilian is on loan at Rekordmeister, where he often plays as a right midfielder and has scored one goal and made three assists this season.

The winger's contract with Juventus lasts until June 2022, so it is in the interests of the Old Lady to find a club for Douglas before loses a lot of value, otherwise he will leave for free. According to Transfermarkt, its price is now 12 million euros, and the media calls Leeds United as one of the main contenders.

This is not surprising, because Marcelo Bielsa needs a replacement for Rafinha, who is actively wooed to the British giants. In particular, Liverpool claims Costa's compatriot. The Reds see him as an alternative to Salah and are ready to shell out about 20 million euros for the player who has scored four goals and made four assists in 17 matches in the Premier League.

If the purchase of Rafinha is in many ways similar to the transfer of Diogo Jota, because the guy played in England and proved himself well, Leeds may have difficulties with Costa. Yes, the guy most likely knows English, since he played in Italy, Germany and Ukraine. But adaptation will not be easy for him, because the Premier League is different from other leagues. An example of this is Bernard, who never played at the highest level after moving from Shakhtar to the Premier League, as well as Fred, who started to rock only during his third season in England.

Douglas Costa does not have that much time, because he is already 30 years old. On the positive side, it should be noted that in addition to Rafinha in Leeds there is Portuguese Elder Costa, who speaks the same language with Costa, as well as the Argentine coach. But the risks in this transfer are big and we are not sure that the club will cope with them, especially given the middle age of the winger.
