Bayern are aiming at Koulibaly

Kalidou Lolibaly from Napoli became one of the main candidates for arrival to Bayern Munich next summer.

Not so long ago, it became known that David Alaba is no longer going to play for Bayern. The Austrian refused to renew his contract and is looking for a new club, where he will play in the midfield, as exemplified by his performances in the Austria national team.

Rekordmeister are gradually coping with the task of replacing Alaba and have already agreed on the summer transfer of Dayot Upamecano. But the Frenchman from Leipzig is not enough when you have Niklas Sule, who is not getting in shape after an injury, and slow 32-year-old Jerome Boateng in the center of defense. Therefore, Bayern want to play it safe and take also Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Germans are going to spend about 45 million euros on him. They expect that this will be enough even in the face of competition with Liverpool and Manchester United. The latter are looking for an option to strengthen the center in a pair with Maguire, and the Merseysiders have already seen how tight it can be without high-quality center-backs after Virgil van Dijk's injury. In addition, Real Madrid are watching Koulibaly, because Sergio Ramos and Rafael Varane, who was also wooed to Liverpool, may soon leave them.

Among all these options, we will note that Koulibaly plays excellently, both with his left (leading foot) and right. Therefore, he can easily pair up with any defender. Another thing is that he is more of a follower than a leading defensive player. Based on this, he needs a strong partner, which can be Van Dijk, Maguire or Ramos, if he does not leave Real.

For Koulibaly, the most suitable option is Manchester United and Liverpool, which need him and these clubs will be ready to give more salaries due to their problems. Bayern are unlikely to give him more in view of the fact that Koulibaly for the Rekordmeister is akin to insurance in case of poor adaptation of Upamecano and problems with Sule and Boateng. But at the same time, Bayern will make a very competent move if they nevertheless sign the Senegalese and thereby secure dominance not only in Germany, but also in Europe.
