Sergio Aguero spends his last season at Manchester City

Sergio Aguero is officially leaving Manchester City by the end of the current season, having spend 10 years at the club.

The decision to leave Manchester City for Sergio Aguero has matured over the course of this season. The Cityzens were not particularly willing to negotiate the extension of the Argentine's contract. The reason for this was Kun's long-term injury, due to which he missed almost half of the matches. But even without him, Pep Guardiola managed to book the first place for the team with a solid margin of 14 points eight rounds before the end of the league season. City also compete for the Champions League Cup, the English League Cup and the FA Cup.

In his official statement, the Argentine said,

“I joined City in 2011 during the restructuring. With the help of the owners and contributions of many players, we have been able to establish ourselves as one of the greatest clubs in the world.

Now the task of maintaining this level will lie on the shoulders of other players. As for me, I will work to the limit until the end of the season, give all my strength to win even more titles and bring joy to the fans,” Aguero said.

Sergio truly marked the era of Manchester City's dominance in the Premier League. Although the team did not manage to compete for titles in the international arena, this season can be the swan song of the Cityzens as a send-off for the Argentine. A monument will already be erected to him at the entrance to Etihad next to the statue of Vincent Company and David Silva.

To replace the striker, Manchester City wants to see Erling Haaland. But the Norwegian will be difficult to get hold of given the interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea. Moreover, the forward of Borussia himself wants to move to Madrid more.

Over the decade, Aguero became the best goalscorer in the club's history, scoring 257 goals in 384 games. In addition, it was he who brought the championship title in the 2011/12 season for the first time since 1968 in an incredible last-round match against QPR.
