Milan consider Allegri’s return

Milan are seriously considering firing Stefano Pioli and is counting on Allegri or Juric.

Italian Milan have experienced the whole range of emotional upheavals in the current season of Serie A. The team got to the first line of the championship, where it held out right up to February, and now they risk not even getting into the Champions League.

The last straw was a weak-willed defeat to Roman Lazio 3:0, which threw Rossoneri from third place to fifth with equality of points with Juventus and Napoli. Milan failed to achieve results with top Italian clubs, which is why they turned out to be worse in head-to-head encounters.

Because of this result, the media quickly heated the ground for the possible departure of Pioli, who, like Icarus, scorched his wings during the current season. As alternatives, the club's bosses are considering the return of Massimiliano Allegri. The Italian achieved championship medals with Rossoneri in 2010/11 and also won the Super Cup the same year. Allegri's last job was Juventus, from where he left with honors after another triumphant 2018/19 season, and also led Old Signora to the Champions League final twice.

But as Football Italia writes, the arrival of Massimiliano will depend on his ambitions. The coach aims to fight at the highest level, because in Italy he won everything he could. Therefore, luring him to San Siro will only be possible with financial arguments. Whether it is the head coach of Verona, Ivan Juric. With him, the team has progressed and is now in the middle of the tournament table. Although after scoring 41 points, they noticeably relaxed and lost four matches in a row.

It seems to us that Milan need to look strategically ahead. In recent years, they have replaced Gattuso, Inzaghi, Mihajlovic, Brocchi, Montella and Giampaolo. They need not a surgeon, but a therapist who can prescribe a long course of treatment with minimal losses and complete recovery. Allegri is not interested in this job, as for us.

Juric is young and promising, but from experience he only has Genoa, Crotone and Verona. Therefore, the best option for Milan will be to wait for Andriy Shevchenko, who will soon finish with the Ukrainian national team. He will have his own experienced staff and the vision of the game and the desire to recreate the team in which he became the winner of the Ballon d'Or.
