Newcastle are new EPL contenders!

Newcastle United have received new owners from Saudi Arabia, who are 13 times richer than Manchester City bosses.

It finally happened! The epic with the sale of Newcastle has come to an end, and the former owner of the club Mike Ashley retired after 14 years of running the club. The Magpies’ fans were extremely unhappy with the owner's management, which culminated in their relegation to the Championship. But now, fans cheerfully greeted the representatives of the Saudi Arabian government's public investment fund in the hope of better results.

Last year, a scandal thwarted Ashley's deal with the Saudis. The contenders for Newcastle were linked to a streaming service that pirated the Premier League football matches. Then the league was outraged and blocked the sale. But after almost a year, this issue was settled and Newcastle passed into the hands of the new owners.

The club’s sporting director Amanda Staveley welcomed the new leadership,

“Newcastle deserve to be at the top of the Premier League. We want to get there. It will take time, but we will get to the very top. We are proud to be part of the Premier League. There is very serious competition here, we like it. The Premier League has the best football in the world and Newcastle is the best team in the world.

We want to win trophies. First place in the Premier League, success in Europe - that's what we want. But that means we need to be patient, that investment is needed,” Staveley said.

First of all, there were rumors about who would coach the ambitious Saudi project in England. The current manager of the Magpies, Steve Bruce, said that he would like to continue working, but he understands that the leadership will first of all change the coach. Therefore, La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Antonio Conte may become the new manager of Newcastle. So far, we are not talking about specific negotiations, but the Italian has a good portfolio with a victory in the Premier League and Serie A, as well as good results in the Italy national team.

But despite the fact that the club has got such rich bosses, the process of formation will clearly be slow. Now all Newcastle players will be motivated to play to their fullest and earn a place under the hot Arabian sun, because the team is in the penultimate place in the Premier League and the next relegation to the Championship does not fit into the plans of the eminent club.

If the work is organized correctly, they will not invite old legends, but will choose a vector towards young people, as RB Leipzig and Salzburg do. And we will see that for sure in the winter transfer window already.
