Chelsea have reached a deal on Kounde transfer!

Sevilla's most valuable asset, 23-year-old centre-back Jules Kounde will move to the English capital this summer! Chelsea are interested in the services of the Frenchman, who is ready to pay the Andalusians 60 million pounds.

Kounde started his professional career at Bordeaux, from where he was promoted to Sevilla in the summer of 2019. At 21, the Frenchman instantly became the line-up player at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. And for three seasons in the ranks of Rojiblancos, he played 130 matches and had nine scoring shots. At Sevilla, Jules won the 2020 Europa League and also made his debut for the France national team, where he appeared on the pitch in nine matches.

Not surprisingly, a young center back with such a background has attracted the interest of top clubs. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona wanted to sign Kounde, but recently Chelsea have entered the arena and offered Sevilla about 70 million euros. For that kind of money, the Spaniards are ready to say goodbye to their leaders, and Jules himself is eager to move to the Albion in the strongest and richest league in the world.

For now, Kounde's transfer to Chelsea is up in the air. The fact is that the Blues’ owner Roman Abramovich is now under financial sanctions, which also apply to the football club. The Russian oligarch is forced to sell Chelsea to a consortium of businessmen Hansjörg Wyss and Todd Boley. This transaction will take place in the coming days, after which all monetary assets of the Londoners will be unlocked.

The purchase of Jules Kounde will partly solve Chelsea's huge defensive staffing problem. This summer, the contracts of a couple of the club's main centre-backs, Rudiger and Christensen, expire. The former will certainly continue his career at Real Madrid, while the latter is very close to moving to Barcelona. And a year later, the key wing defenders Azpilicueta and Alonso may also leave London as free agents. Chelsea will be left with 37-year-old veteran Thiago Silva, 22-year-old talent Rhys James and Trevoh Chalobah, along with left wingback Ben Chilwell, who missed the entire year due to injury. We are sure that the transfer of the ambitious Frenchman to Stamford Bridge will strengthen the Londoners' troubled line and allow them to look to the future with more confidence.
