French talents choose Chelsea!

Recently, Chelsea signed a 21-year-old defender of Monaco and the French youth team Benoit Badiashile! The footballer's contract with the Blues is designed for as much as seven and a half years. What is it, a team renewal course?

Despite his young age, Badiashile is the first football player born in the twenty-first century who has played more than a hundred matches in Ligue 1. Here it is, the trust in young people, which is so lacking in the post-Soviet space! As part of Monaco, Benoit is already in his fifth full season, and during this time he managed to finish third in the league twice, and also prove himself in the Europa League.

For several years now, the Monegasques have been a real forge of talent - remember only Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Fabinho, who lit up in 2017 under the leadership of Jardim. Therefore, it is not surprising that Badiashile very quickly moved to a truly status team for 38 million pounds. Chelsea decided to buy the young football player, who have been going through hard times in the 2022/23 season.

At the moment, the Londoners are tenth in the standings with a serious lag behind the Champions League zone - we are no longer talking about the fight for the league title. In early September, the Blues unexpectedly parted ways with head coach Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter, who replaced him, is still busy building a new team. Let us remind you that in the summer Chelsea bought three defenders at once for about 200 million euros. But neither Koulibaly, nor Fofana, nor Cucurella really played.

We also have doubts about Badiashile's prospects in London. Yes, he is already a mature footballer, but the Frenchman needs time to adapt to a more difficult league than Ligue 1 like a breath of fresh air. Also a bit annoying is his propensity for serious injuries, due to which Benoit has missed about four months of the last thirteen in total. And in Chelsea, it seems they have forgotten how to work in the transfer market - huge money is being spent, but so far there is no result.

For Benoit Badiashile himself, moving to the Premier League is akin to fulfilling a childhood dream. Monaco received a solid sum for the player, which he can skillfully invest in the future. But will the 21-year-old center back play in troubled Chelsea? If yes, then the Blues will solve the problem position on the football field for a long time. However, the chances of the Frenchman failing at Stamford Bridge are also quite high.
