PSG and Galtier are not a good fit for each other!

After just a year on the PSG coaching bridge, Christophe Galtier is ready to leave his post! This manager failed to bring the Parisian club to a new level of development, which he himself is well aware of.

PSG invited Galtier after his successful work with Lille - in the 2020/21 season, Les Dogues sensationally became the champions of France, literally breaking the hegemony of the aforementioned Parisians for just one year. So, the leadership of the metropolitan giants decided to go the easy way and invite the best coach of Ligue 1 to break away from all competitors even more. Before that, Mauricio Pochettino worked with PSG, but the Argentine lasted a little over a year in his post.

Initially, Galtier managed to rally the team around him, reanimate Neymar, and also successfully use the Brazilian, Messi and Mbappe on the football field at the same time. At the start of the campaign, the Parisians showed a killer performance and it seemed that they were able to break all possible records. In the Champions League, PSG traditionally qualified for the playoffs, but there they faced a serious opponent - Bayern.

While in November the French were considered the favorites of this pair, then in 2023 they fell into a serious crisis and lost to Die Roten without much chance. In just three months, PSG suffered more defeats than in 2022. Of course, the coach was blamed for the failures of the club, although the main reason for all the failures is the fatigue of the team leaders after the 2022 World Cup. It's no secret that after the overly emotional World Cup finals performed by Messi and Mbappe, they are not very interested in confronting the modest Clermont or Troyes.

In this case, PSG need a coach with whom you can’t relax too much. At the moment, the most suitable candidate for the club is Zinedine Zidane, whose authority is undeniable. With Real Madrid, Zizou took three Champions League Cups, but he doesn’t plan to stop there. Given the conflict between the 50-year-old specialist and Florentino Perez, Zidane is unlikely to return to Madrid, but to work with Paris and instill in him the mentality of a winner in European competition - why not?

So far, Galtier can only ask the PSG players to do their best to win the French league title. But in the next campaign already, the Parisian giant will invite a new coach to try to realize the ambitious wishlist of the Qatari bosses with him.
