Pogba ruined his career?
In addition to health problems, due to which Paul Pogba practically did not play over the past couple of years, there was also a story with doping! Now the Frenchman could be suspended from football for a couple of years, and this is even in the best case.
Pogba's career follows a strange route: Manchester United - Juventus - Manchester United - Juventus, but only the second stage was more or less successful for him, with a huge number of Scudetto and reaching the Champions League final. As part of the Red Devils, Paul clearly did not work out the 105 million euros paid for him, and since 2022 he has appeared on the field for Juventus in only 12 matches.
Most often, the once talented French midfielder was hampered by injuries of varying severity, but now the doping situation also looks very suspicious. After the Udinese-Juventus match, which took place on August 20, Pogba’s tests revealed testosterone, which is a banned substance in the world of sports. It is not surprising that against this backdrop, Paul was under the threat of a long disqualification.
Paul Pogba's agent Rafaela Pimenta prefers not to rush to conclusions and wait for the results of a repeat doping test. She insists that her client did not intend to break the rules. However, at the time of this story, Juventus had already suspended the 30-year-old Frenchman from training with the main team. Now his career is in serious jeopardy.
We wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future Pogba goes to finish his game in the Middle East, where they are not particularly sensitive to reputational scandals, as in Europe. However, this will happen in the best possible scenarios. If the Frenchman is found guilty, he will be suspended from football for two years. And if they prove that Paul used the prohibited drug on purpose, the ban will be extended to four years.
Paul Pogba had serious playing potential and could become one of the best midfielders in the world in the twenty-first century. However, injuries, problems with discipline and, now, a murky doping story have led to such a sad ending. We very much doubt that the French midfielder’s reputation will ever be clear, given the current realities of life in the civilized world.
