Sports betting may become a replacement for regular fixed odds slots betting outlets, if the maximum will be reduced to two pounds.
If the UK government reduces the betting sum on fixed odds slot machines, consumers and betting outlets will instead shift to sports betting, the head of the biggest worldwide gambling software manufacturer said on Thursday.
The conservative administration is currently deciding the sum of the upper limit for fixed odds betting terminals (FOBT) after it became clear that the current limit in the sum of 100 pounds causes dependency and allows players to easily get into debt.
William Hill and Ladbrokes gambling companies warned about the loss of workplaces and outlet closure, if the bet will be reduced to two pounds on FOBT machines, which will allow players to make bets on roulette, poker and Black Jack.
The London Playtech executive director Mor Weizer claims, that thus there will be no restrictions on the number of machines where you can bet. Therefore, this decision can not be called positive.
