Gattuso is not in a hurry to believe bookmakers

Milan’s head coach Gennaro Gattuso called on his team to dismiss the opponent’s underestimation ahead of the first match of the round of 16 of the Europa League.

Tonight the London Arsenal will visit San Siro, where they will meet with the local Milan. In the wake of recent unsuccessful matches of Arsenal with Manchester City and Brighton, bookmakers give preference to Rossoneri in the upcoming match, which have not lost for 13 matches in a row in all tournaments.

In the pre-match interview, journalists provoked Milan’s young manager Gennaro Gattuso with questions about his team’s advantage over the opponent. Nevertheless, the manager of the club, which has taken the Champions League Cup twice in 2000’s claimed: “You are saying, that we can defeat Arsenal, but these are just words for now. For many years Milan has not played on high level in Europe and we want to enjoy the moment and raise the bar a bit. Arsenal are still better than us. Let’s see, on what level we currently are. Compared to Wenger, I’m no one as a coach ”.

As it was said before, Milan’s streak without losses continues for 13 matches, including Coppa Italia games, where Il Diavolo got to the final stage and will play with Juventus Turin.

Last time, Milan and Arsenal met in 2012 in the round of 16 of the Champions League. Back then, Rossoneri managed to crush Wenger’s side with the score of 4:0 at San Siro. However, in the second match they lost 3:0 and managed to advance to quarterfinals with a minimal advantage of one goal.

Betting operators estimate Milan’s victory within their native walls with the odds of 2.15, while the odds on the guests’ victory are 3.80. A popular bet on the exact score is 2:0 in favor of Milan (10.00), and the Italian team’s advancement is evaluated as 2.10.
