France advance to semifinals of the World Cup

The national team of France without any serious problems received a ticket to semifinals of the World Cup. In the first quarter-final match Les Tricolor defeated Uruguay 2:0 thanks to the goals from Varane and Griezmann.

Initially, the loss for Oscar Tabares’ team was the injury of Edinson Cavani in the round of 16 match against Portugal. The Uruguayan’s injury was remembered to the fans with Ronaldo helping leave the pitch in the end of the match. He was left in reserve in the quarter-final, while Stuani went out on the edge alongside Suarez.

The French national team didn’t have any serious rotations, not taking into account Giroud’s exit on the edge from the first minutes. Deschamps decided that such forward is necessary to his team in the battla against Jimenez and Godin.

The beginning of the match was after the Uruguayans, however the nominal hosts overtook the initiative and to the fans’ surprise played predominantly through wings. Pogba and Kante fulfilled the triangles with Hernandez and Tolisso on the left and Mbappe and Pavaro on the right. The Manchester United halfback was losing the battle to Torreira and Veccino, who occupied the midfield. However, that didn’t bring any benefit for Oscar Tabares. After the pass from a free kick by Griezmann, the ball founr Rafael Varane’s head, who overtook both Godin and Jimenes. Real defender opened the score and Uruguay activated in the second part of the first half.

Uruguays problem lied in an attempt to take away the midfield, which France didn’t need in the match. Kante still swept  after Pogba, but most attacks went through the wings. Celesti’s only dangerous moment was gotten after a mirror free kick, which France had. However, Lloris showed Muslera master-class and reflected Caceres’ shot to a corner.

In the second half France methodically tried to attack the goal of Galatasaray goalkeeper and it didn’t take long. Muslera couldn’t cope with Griezmann’s shot and let the ball into the net Carius’ style. Les Tricolor didn’t approach the goal and continued constructing attacks not givins zones to Uruguay. Along with the heat of emotions, the nominal hosts had no choice but to provoke an opponent to foul.

France easily advanced to semifinals, having showed confident game and a hundred-percent realization. Out of Muslera’s two shots on target both turned out to be goals. After a victoryover Portugal and without Cavani Uruguay was a bleak shadow of the last game. Therefore Didier Deschamps’ team advanced to semifinals, which will be played against Belgium.
