Mourinho has found a new victim

Jose Mourinho during the camps in the United States caught Jurgen Klopp for his words about spending money on footballers. The conflict is growing between the coaches on the eve of Sunday's friendly match in the international champions' cup.

Last season, the Portuguese in interviews picked on Antonio Conte for a month, which led to a conflict of Chelsea and Manchester United coaches. Such a psychological attack on the Italian ended for the Blues with an unsuccessful streak and the fifth place in the Premier League, when the Red Devils finished second. However, Conte took revenge in the FA Cup final, minimally defeating Mourinho, and leaving the Portuguese without title in the season.

After the departure of Antonio Conte from the post of Chelsea coach, Mourinho quickly found a new victim. It is Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Special One reminded Klopp of his words about the uselessness of squandering money on costly players,

“With a smile I remember Klopp's previous comments and see that you can change your mind and change like a person. It's funny. But it's good, although this season at last you can demand victory from them. I think you need to be completely honest and demand from Liverpool a triumph in the championship.”

This summer Liverpool has been joined by Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson, who has become the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of football. Therefore the Portuguese hinted the Merseysiders’ fans that now they have to expect a victory in the championship from the club and with that also put Klopp in an awkward position.

Yes, last season such psychological tricks worked on Conte, making him mad. However, the Italian and the German are different by nature. Today Clopp, with his usual humor, commented on the statements of Mourinho,

“One of my main goals in life is to make Mourinho smile  because it happens not so often.

I have no problem with what Mourinho said. We live in a free world, and everyone has the right to say what he wants. If Mourinho is happy with our transfers, it's even better.”

Manchester United and Liverpool will play a test match on Saturday at 22:00 European time. Bookmakers are on the Merseysiders’ side and evaluate their victory with the odds of 2.10. The odds on Man Utd victory and a draw are 3.60 and 3.64 respectively. Before that, the Red Devils tied with Milan 1:1 and won the penalty shootout and Liverpool defeated Manchester City, 1:2, but lost to Borussia Dortmund, 1:3.
