Tottenham cannot reach an agreement with Eriksen

The main attacking halfback of London Tottenham Christian Eriksen is not satisfied with the offered terms of his contract extension. The Dane wants to earn more that Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

This summer, the Spurs did not buy a single footballer, thus having made a resonance in the English football. For twenty seven years of the EPL existence the similar situation happened for the first time, therefore Tottenham no matter what need to keep all players. Last season, the London club took the third place, therefore the club’s management, known for its mercantile approach to running a business, did not consider it necessary to invest money in Mauricio Pochettino’s project.

However, the absence of trophies and failure in the Champions League do not inspire confidence in players. The British newspaper Daily Mail reports that Christian Eriksen intends to leave the club, who became a basic pillar in Pochettino’s formation. The Dane performs as a connecting link between the center of midfield and attack of Kane, Alli and Son. The numbers show the halfback’s use, which indicate that in the last three EPL seasons, the footballer scored 24 goals and made 45 assists.

Whereas Eriksen is able to replace Kane on the edge of attack and even played on the forward position in the World Cup qualifying stage for the national team of Denmark. Eriksen made an invaluable contribution to the Danes’ advancement to the Mondial and play-offs. However, Tottenham’s transfer policy and the style of business management from the Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, with whom most of the European clubs refuse to work because of excessive stinginess, will not lead to anything good.

Eriksen is headhunted by Real Madrid, while Barcelona considered the playmaker for the role of the main contender to replace Xavi, but purchased Coutinho for the aforementioned reasons. But the internal conflict of the footballer with the club will lead to a schism between players and management. Although there is little chance of selling Eriksen, but his contract expires in 2020 and probably the repetition of the recent story will happen in Tottenham, the main hero of which was Toby Alderweireld.
