Lyon will not let Ndombele go to Manchester City

Lyon declined English Manchester City’s attempt to get their halfback Tanguy Ndombele. Les Gones weren’t satisfied with the offered sum for the key performer in Genesio’s team.

According to The Times, the Mancuanians offered 45 million pounds sterling for the midfielder, but the French club declined, as it evaluates the player in at least 75 million pounds, considering modern reality.

Pep Guardiola’s motive is simple and logical. This season the team got into a storm after main midfielders injuries in different time periods. Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Ilkay Gindogan and Fernandinho got all sorts of injuries. Because of that, the Citiznes had problems of moving from defense to attack, which together with Mendy’s injury tied down Guardiola’s team.

Two weeks ago according to Sky Sports it became known that Ndomblele refused to leave Lyon in the winter and will wait until the summer transfer window. Apart from Manchester City, the Frenchman was also hunted by Manchester United and Tottenham.

Ndombele is an integral part of Genesio’s formation this season. The footballer has spent 23 matches for Les Gones in all tournaments and scored two goals. However, the footballer’s role lies in lightning-fast transition from defense to attack thanks to dribbling. The halfback outplayed opponents about four times on average per match and his percentage of successful dribbles was 74% last season. At the moment, Hazard, Neymar and Messi were the best ones.

The Frenchman can go forward alone, discourage an opponent and give an assist. Besides, he does more than one cross per match. The closes one compared to Ndombele is Naby Keita from Liverpool. But while the Guinean is adapting to harsh realities of the English gootball, other teams look for similar performers.
