Italy marks income growth from gambling business by 7% in 2016
Gambling industry of Italy grew by 7% in 2016 and reached a turnover of 95 million Euros, i.e. roughly 4.4% of the country’s GDP.
The gambling business brought the country about $10 billion of tax income for the past year. On average, about 260 million Euros are spent daily on gambling in Italy.
According to the statistical data, provided by local media, more than a half of the country gamble at least once a year. Wherein about 70% of Italy’s adult population gamble.
It became previously known, that within the first eight months of 2016, the total turnover of sports betting in Italy grew by 17% in the annual estimate, whereas the online segment grew by 32.4%.
