Reus promises he will not move to Bayern

The captain and leader of Borussia Dortmund Marco Reus gave FAZ an interview, in which he claimed that he will never move to Bayern. The Black-and-Yellows’ midfielder calmed fans down, stating that he will not go down Lewandowski, Gotze and Hummels’ path.

Marco Reus was considered to be the hope of the German football; however, constant injuries did not let the player touch historical success of Bundesteam in 2014 World Cup. Even last season Reus played 11 matches, in which he scored seven goals.

This season Marco has worn the captain band and for the first time in the last three seasons corresponds to the fans hopes. Eighteen rounds later, the 29-year old winger has 11 league goals and seven assists in the asset, which puts him on 3rd place in the goalscorers list of Bundesliga after his teammate Paco Alcacer and Eintracht forward Jovic.

In his last interview, Reus calmed the fans down, claiming that he will not move to Borussia’s main competitor’s camp – Bayern,

“Me? To Bayern? Never! You will never see me in Bayern. I promise.

Besides, I am soon to be 30 years old, they want to rejuvenate the squad.”

Reus came to Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012, when Jurgen Klopp’s bright days together with the Black-and-Yellows were coming to an end.

Reus has not won the Champions Shield of Bundesliga at Signal Iduna Park yet, but this season he is close to it like never before. Borussia are occupying the first place and are ahead of Bayern by six points, overtaking Borussia from Monchengladbach by nine points. Therefore, it is not necessary for Reus to transfer to the Germany hegemon’s camp after five years and better try and create a new leviathan from Borussia, but this time with Lucien Favre in charge.
