Neymar will remain at PSG, says Neymar’s father

After the rumors regarding the talks of the Brazilian forward regarding the Catalan Barcelona, Neymar’s father gave an interview, in which he disproved the news. The footballer’s agent claims that PSG remain his present and there were no talks with Barcelona.

In 2017, Neymar transferred to PSG for the record sum of 222 million euros. However, in a year and a half the footballer did not achieved the desired victory in the Champions League with the Frenchmen and in the nomination for Ballon D’Or he ended up farther than his teammate Kylian Mbappe. After that, rumors spread on the internet about possible return of the player to Camp Nou.

However, the Brazilian’s father, who is also his agent, claims that those are only rumors and everything is fine by Neymar in Paris,

“His present and future is Paris. It is difficult to discourse about the future, because in football everything can change at any moment. But Neymar’s present is in Paris.

He is actually happy. The first year at PSG was a year of adaptation, gaining new experience.

Right now he feels himself well in Paris. He is happy with everything, except for the injury, and is growing together with PSG.”

Last season, the player got injured and did not play in the second match against Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16. The French club lost two matches and dropped out of the tournament and Neymar became an anti-hero for the fans. This season, the player got injured in a match against Strasbourg and was absent in the first game against Manchester United. However, even without him, with Cavani and Meunier the Parisians defeated Solskjaer’s team away, 0:2.

PSG are progressing with Tuchel; however, Neymar remains in stagnation compared to footballers of top four leagues, England, Spain, Italy and Germany. Besides, there is Mbappe in Tuchel’s team, which according to Transfermarkt data is evaluated higher than the Brazilian by 20 million euros (200 million euros).

This season Neymar spent 13 matches for PSG in the championship, in which he scored 13 goals and made seven assists. Mbappe shows better results on a longer distance – 19 goals and 10 assists in 18 matches. Considering the fact that Neymar is seven years older than the Frenchman, the issue of the main star of the team cancels itself out.
