Real Madrid goalkeeper is ready to do anything to stay in the team

Real Madrid goalkeeper said he wants to stay at Santiago Bernabéu next season, despite the club’s active transfer policy lately.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is an infrequent guest in the club's main lineup this season. The goalkeeper from Costa Rica had only a few matches under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari. The coaches preferred him to Thibault Courtois, signed last summer from Chelsea, when Navas was sitting on a bench, while Andriy Lunin played in Leganes.

The goalkeeper of the national team of Costa Rica can still leave the camp of Los Blancos, as the club is expected to make big changes to the transfer window this summer.

But the player hopes that he will be able to stay in Madrid for the next season and will take his place in the line-up, as before under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane.

“I am very happy, thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to be here”, Navas told reporters.

“Whenever I have the opportunity to play, I try my best. I hope I can stay in Madrid next season. I have a contract, and we have to wait and see if anything changes there.

If the coach tells me to leave, I will. But I have a valid contract, my present is connected with Real. I will always do my best and try to convince the coach that I deserve to play.”

Navas played more than 150 matches for Real Madrid after moving from Levante in 2014, winning one La Liga title and three Champions League cups during his time at the club. This season, La Liga goalkeeper played only seven games, conceding six goals, and also kept the goal shut twice.
