Atletico strengthen themselves with Tottenham player

Atletico Madrid continue conducting a generation change and this time Simeone strengthened the team with Kieran Trippier.

The Madridian club’s official website told about the new footballer of Diego Simeone’s gang. It is an English right defender, Kieran Trippier. The footballer signed a contract for three years with La Liga silver medal winner and Tottenham in their turn received about 24 million euros.

In 2015 the footballer mover from Burnley to Tottenham, subsequently replacing Kyle Walker, who went to Manchester City. In four seasons in the Spurs’ camp, the footballer did not win any awards, having become only a Champions League finalist in the end of last season. For the past year the Englishman appeared 38 times in all tournaments in Mauricio Pochettino’s line-up. Trippier made five assists and scored one goal in these matches.

Because of Trippier’s departure, Tottenham are trying to sign Florenzi from Roma or Hysaj from Napoli. At the same time, Atletico noticeably decided to strengthen themselves in the summer transfer window and pass the generation change stage. After Filipe Luis, Godin, Hernandez, Griezmann, Gelson Martins and Luciano Vietto left the Indians, Atletico signed Saponjic and Joao Felix from Benfica, Marcos Llorente from Real, Renan Lodi from Athletico Paranaense and Felipe from Porto.

The Mattressers have already spent more than 220 million in the pre-season transfer window; however, they have earned significantly more on their footballers’ sale. In total, Atletico’s piggy-bank was replenished through sales of Rodri, Griezmann, Hernandez and Martins by 300 million euros.

The Madridians competently cope with the generation change. Diego Simeone finds quality replacement for players and at the same time purchasing footballers for adequate price tags. The only exception was Joao Felix, with whom the Mattressers replaced Antoine Griezmann. Apart from that, the Indians do not cheat on their principles and continue following the vector of development, which was seeded by the Argentine manager almost a decade ago.
